Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday targeted Samajwadi Party president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav at a rally marking the foundation stone laying ceremony of Ma Shakumbhari University in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Amit Shah said, “Right now I am listening to Akhilesh Yadav’s speech on TV. He said crime has increased in UP. I want to ask him, Akhilesh ji, where are you bringing spectacles from, seeing that crime is increasing in UP? Go home and check the information, you will know that crime is over in UP today, there is no riot and there is rule of law.

Massive reduction in crime

Shah said robberies had dropped by 70 per cent, robberies by 69 per cent, murders by 30 per cent, bullying by 33 per cent and dowry deaths by 22.5 per cent during Yogi Ji’s rule. The Home Minister further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has ensured a riot-free state where there were many riots in the previous government in which youths were killed.

Now the sugar mill is not closed

The former BJP president has claimed that there was a big conspiracy to shut down sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh and sell their sugar. He said that now whether it is Western UP or Eastern UP, a sugar mill has not been sold or closed down since the formation of BJP’s Yogi government. Amit Shah said that not only the distance of the road has decreased, the distance of the heart has also decreased due to Modiji.

He said it used to take 6 hours to travel from Delhi to Saharanpur, now it takes only 3 hours. The distance has been reduced as the road is better. Shah said that when I came to Saharanpur in 2017, people here used to say that we would change, but what would happen if we emigrated with the change. I told them that once you form the BJP government, those who deported you will be expelled from UP.
