Ayodhya In a few minutes land worth Rs 2 crore

On Sunday, when Nripendra Mishra, the former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and now the head of the temple construction committee of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, met trustees and experts to take stock of the works of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on March 18 this year alleged fraud and corruption in the purchase of a piece of land by the trust.

At a press conference in Lucknow, AAP’s UP in-charge and MP Sanjay Singh said, “A piece of land in Ayodhya is registered with numbers 243, 244 and 246. Its value is Rs 5.80 crore. It was bought from Kusum Pathak and Harish Pathak to Sultan. Ansari and Ravi Mohan Tiwari for Rs 2 crore. There were two witnesses to this purchase – Ram Janmabhoomi Trust member Anil Mishra and Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay.”

He further said, “It was bought at 7.10 pm. In the next five minutes, the same land was purchased by Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and Champat Rai from Ansari and Tiwari for Rs 18.5 crore and Rs 17 crore was transferred through RTGS.”

In a statement issued late night, the trust said, the existing sellers had a registered agreement at a price years ago and after the sale deed on March 18, they sold it to the trust.

The statement said, “After the order of the Supreme Court, many people started coming to Ayodhya to buy land and the UP government is also buying a lot of land for development works, due to which the price of the land suddenly increased. It is very close to the railway station and hence at a very important location. All the land purchased by the trust is bought at a price much less than the market price.”

Sanjay Singh claimed that the stamp papers were purchased at 5.11 pm for the first purchase and 5.22 pm for the second. He demanded that it be investigated by the CBI or ED, as it is a matter related to the religious beliefs of crores of people.

At the same time, in another press conference in Ayodhya, Samajwadi Party leader and former MLA Pawan Pandey also raised similar questions. He said, “A piece of land was bought for Rs 2 crore, in which the trustees were witnesses. Did the land start giving gold that after a few minutes the same land was bought for Rs 18.5 crore?… Trustee witness with Mayor Hrishikesh Upadhyay I have documentary evidence.”

However, the trust said that the propaganda being done by political people on this issue is misleading. It said, “The person concerned is political and the matter is politically motivated.”

The statement also claimed that all sales and purchases are made through proper negotiation and agreement and the agreement papers are signed. “All court fees and stamp paper purchases are made online and the money is transferred to the seller’s bank account through online transactions,” it said.

According to the Indian Express, Ansari, one of the two property dealers who sold the piece of land to the trust, has not commented on the matter. Tiwari said that many years ago, there was an agreement of two crore rupees with the readers for this land, but after the decision of the Supreme Court, its price increased significantly.

Tiwari said, “While I had bought it for Rs 2 crore as per my agreement, the actual price should be more than Rs 20 crore now, but I sold it only for Rs 18.5 crore, as it was for a project related to our trust. is.”
