According to ANI, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Amit Khare as Advisor to the Prime Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, on contract basis, in the rank and scale of Secretary to the Government of India, initially for two years or till further orders. has given.

Khare is an IAS officer of 1985 batch of Bihar-Jharkhand cadre and took over as Secretary, Ministry of Education (Department of Higher Education) in December 2019.

Within a short time of his appointment, the cabinet had approved the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) on 29 July 2020. He was retired earlier this month.
