Heat flow warning: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a warning that people in Delhi and several other states, including UP, will face intense heat waves in the next two to three days. In the next 24 hours, severe heat wave is expected in isolated areas of Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and western Uttar Pradesh.
Tuesday was the warmest day of the season in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi on Tuesday was 42.6 degrees Celsius, six degrees above normal, the meteorological department said. This is the highest temperature of the season so far. The city also recorded a high of 42.6 degrees Celsius on April 11.

Between April 20-22, heavy rains, thunderstorms and thunderstorms are expected in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The meteorological department further said that Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive heavy rainfall over the next three days.
Climate of Delhi
The heat wave has continued for seven days in Delhi. According to the IMD, the incidence of heat wave in the capital could be further reduced due to cloudy skies. Light rain is expected in isolated places in the national capital till April 22 and wind speed (25-35 kmph) is expected till April 20. Skymet Weather reports that thunderstorms are expected around April 21 and 22, with some relief expected.
April 20 forecast
Heat wave conditions may prevail in isolated areas of Rajasthan and Jharkhand. There will also be thunderstorms, hail and strong winds (30-40 kmph) in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh.
Strong winds (speed 40-50 kmph) with isolated places in western Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.
There will be thunderstorms and gusts of wind (30-40 kmph) at isolated places in Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Gujarat.
Thunderstorms are likely in Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir and isolated places in Ladakh.

April 21
The IMD said thunderstorms with strong winds and hail are likely in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
Heat wave (velocity 40-50 kmph) will continue with gusty winds in isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa.
Thunderstorms are likely at isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat, Telangana, Assam and Meghalaya.
Thunderstorms / dust storms are likely in isolated places in western Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy rains are expected in isolated parts of Assam and Meghalaya.
April 22
In isolated states thunderstorms can be accompanied by thunderstorms, hailstorms and thunderstorms (intestinal speed 50-60 km per hour).
Thunderstorms with thunderstorms are likely in isolated parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Thunderstorms (strong winds of 30-40 kmph) are most likely in isolated areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Ganges, West Bengal, Jharkhand.
