Pashupati Paras elected leader of LJP parliamentary party, Chirag Paswan arrived to persuade uncle

Pashupati Paras said in a conversation with the media that he is feeling lonely in the team.

After the death of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, there has been a rift in the Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), which is trying to make inroads in Bihar politics. Five of the LJP’s six Lok Sabha MPs have joined hands to remove Chirag Paswan from the post of leader of the party in the lower house of Parliament and elect his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras to the post.

On Monday, Pashupati Kumar Paras was unanimously elected the leader of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha. Sources said that the rest of the group of MPs have conveyed their decision to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. The five rebel MPs of Lok Janshakti Party together have removed Chirag Paswan from the post of leader of the party’s parliamentary party. The rebel MPs have also refused to accept Chirag as the national president of the party.

After the rebellion, Chirag Paswan has reached the house of his uncle Pashupati Paras in Delhi. However, due to the non-opening of the gate for a long time, Chirag kept blowing the horn outside the house for about 20 to 25 minutes. After sounding the horn for a long time, the gate of Pashupati Paras’ house opened. At present, Chirag Paswan has gone inside the house of his uncle Pashupati Paras, due to ill health, he did not talk to the media persons. After more than an hour, Chirag has left the uncle’s house.

In the LJP, Pashupati Kumar Paras broke the silence on the situation arising after the rebellion of all the five MPs except Chirag, calling it a decision of compulsion. He said that the party has not been broken but the party has been saved. Pashupati Paras told the media that he is feeling lonely in the team. He did not break the party but did the work of saving it. He claimed that some anti-social elements entered the party, who broke in. However, on the question of rift with Chirag, he said that he has no problem with the nephew.

The party’s MP and Union Minister from Hajipur, Late. Ram Vilas Paswan’s brother Pashupati Paras told Hindustan Times that we were feeling suffocated. After the death of Ram Vilas Paswan on October 8, 2020, the party leadership took some such decisions, due to which the party has come to this brink today. The party was in danger of extinction. However, no official statement has been issued by Chirag Paswan or the disgruntled camp in this regard.

Sources said the disgruntled MPs include Prince Raj, Chandan Singh, Veena Devi and Mehboob Ali Kaiser, who are unhappy with the way Chirag is working. Chirag, who took charge after the death of father Ram Vilas Paswan in 2020, is now seen falling alone in the party. Sources close to him blamed the Janata Dal (United) for the split, saying that the party had been trying to isolate the LJP president for a long time because of the lamp of going against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the 2020 assembly elections. The ruling party had suffered a lot due to the decision.
