PM Modi to inspect metro rail project and travel from IIT metro station to Geeta Nagar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the entire section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project on Tuesday. This section is 9 km long from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel.
Prime Minister Modi will inspect the metro rail project and take a metro journey from IIT metro station to Geeta Nagar. The entire length of the Kanpur Metro Rail project is 32 km and it is being constructed at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore.
Besides, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project on Tuesday. The 356 km long project has a capacity of about 34.5 lakh metric tons per annum. Extending from Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh to Panki in Kanpur, the project has been constructed at a cost of over Rs 1,500 crore. This will help in the transportation of petroleum products from refineries in the region.

At the same time, Prime Minister Modi will also attend the 54th convocation of IIT Kanpur. Modi will be the chief guest at the convocation. At the convocation, digital degrees will be awarded to all students through an in-house blockchain-driven technology developed at the Institute under the National Blockchain Project. The Prime Minister will launch a blockchain-based digital degree, the statement said. Prime Minister Modi will address the convocation at 11 am. He tweeted this information.

Kanpur Metro Rail Project
The total length of Kanpur Metro Rail project is 32 kms and the estimated cost of the project is Taka 11,076.48 crore. Construction of this project started from 15 November 2019. Metro trial was run from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel on 10 November 2021. This metro train from Kanpur will pass through the center of the city. Several educational institutions including IIT Kanpur, Railway Station, Bus Stand, CSJM University, GSYM Medical College, Jhakarkati and Kanpur Central Railway Station.
