This was stated by RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani while addressing a Reliance Family Day (RFD) function organized in a virtual way.
The future of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) looks “brighter than ever”. Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of the company, made the remarks in his speech at the Reliance Family Day (RFD) program, a virtual event, on December 28.
“Given our existing portfolio, growth engine and our strong balance sheet, there will be unlimited availability of money and opportunities,” Ambani said.
The chairman of RIL said he could make two predictions about the future “with full confidence”. The first prediction is that India will become one of the “top three economies” in the world. Another prediction is that Reliance Industries will be “one of the most powerful and reputed Indian multinationals in the world”.

Speaking at the Reliance Family Day event, Ambani said, “We are entering the second half of Reliance’s golden decade. On this occasion, I can tell you that the future of our company looks brighter to me than ever before.” Reliance Family Day is celebrated every year on 28th December on the occasion of Dhirubhai Ambani’s birth anniversary. This is the 89th birth anniversary of Dhirubhai Ambani, the late founder of Reliance Group.
Mukesh Ambani described the current period as a “golden decade” for Reliance Industries and drew parallels from the 1990s, when Dhirubhai Ambani laid a strong foundation for the company’s growth.
“To take advantage of this huge opportunity, it is time to lay the foundation for Reliance’s future growth in the next decade … just as Dhirubhai laid a strong foundation for Reliance in the early 1990’s,” he said.
Ambani further said that it has been a very challenging time since the Corona epidemic started, but nonetheless, Reliance has put itself ahead in its performance.
“We have completely rebuilt our energy business,” he said. He added that Reliance is now on track to become “the world’s largest company in clean and green energy and materials”.
Ambani says Reliance Retail has revolutionized the country’s organized retail market in the last one year. “We have added about one million small shopkeepers and created about one lakh new jobs,” he said.
Commenting on the success of RIL’s telecom unit, Ambani said Jio had “gained more than 120 million subscribers and installed fiber in about 4 million homes and commercial locations”. He said it showed the way to transform India into “the world’s leading digital society”.
Ambani also lauded the charitable work done by the Reliance Foundation, a non-profit organization of the company. It is headed by his wife Nita Ambani. “Doctors and nurses at our Reliance Foundation Hospital risked their lives to save others. At a time when Corona patients were in dire need of oxygen, our engineers in Jamnagar made Reliance the largest producer of medical grade liquid oxygen,” he said. He said that these contributions have brought a lot of praise and respect to Reliance.
