Sameer Wankhede given 6 months extension to continue in his post

After the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput, the name of Indian Revenue Officer Sameer Wankhede, who created panic with the anti-drug action in Bollywood, remains in constant discussion. Wankhede is presently the Divisional Director at NCB’s Mumbai office. Now he has been given an extension to continue in his post for another 6 months.

Sameer Wankhede’s name is in the news after the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. On 2 October a narcotics party was held on the cruise called Cordela. NCB got information about partying with narcotics on this ship. After which action was taken on this ship under the leadership of NCB Zonal Director Samir Wankhede.

This action taken by Sameer Wankhede has also created a big political uproar. Many politicians are working to give a different angle to the matter by expressing their views on this issue, while the Narcotics Control Bureau has raided the cruise ship off the Mumbai coast so far, arrested 18 people and also allegedly recovered drugs.

According to the Maharashtra Times report, Sameer Wankhede was transferred from the Directorate of Revenue to the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020. After this, he has now got an extension of another 6 months on the director. With this it was decided that Wankhede would remain in his post for the next 6 months. Even before this, Sameer Wankhede got an extension.
