SBI Jan Dhan account holders will get free insurance of 2 lakhs, this is how benefits will be given

State Bank Of India Offer: There is a good offer for the account holders of State Bank of India (SBI). Customers who have Jan Dhan account and RuPay debit card in SBI are given free emergency insurance cover up to Rs 2 lakh. Jan Dhan account holders can avail free insurance.

What is Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Scheme was started in the year 2014. Through this scheme, financial services, banking savings and deposit accounts, credit, insurance, pension etc. have to be provided to the economically weaker people. Any person can open Jan Dhan account online by giving his/her KYC documents. Basic savings account can also be transferred to Jan Dhan account.

Who will get the benefit?

Those who have Jan Dhan Accout, they get RuPay PMJDY card from the bank. Initially, the sum insured of RuPay PMJDY card was Rs 1 lakh but on RuPay cards issued after August 28, 2018, accidental cover benefit of up to Rs 2 lakh is available.

How to take advantage?

To get the claim, first you have to fill the claim form. Along with this, the original death certificate or certified copy will have to be attached. Attach the original or certified copy of the FIR. There should also be post mortem report and FSL report. Aadhar card copy. Affidavit of having RuPay card with the cardholder will have to be given on the bank stamp paper. All documents have to be submitted within 90 days. The name and bank details of the nominee will have to be submitted along with the copy of the passbook.

In how many days will the settlement take place?

After submitting the claim form and all the required documents, the claim will be settled within 10 working days. All benefits will be given till 31 March 2022.
