If you are a customer of HDFC Bank and you use its mobile banking app, then this news is for you only. HDFC Bank on June 15 said that it is facing some issues with its mobile banking application and has informed the customers about these issues as well.
HDFC Bank’s communication team said, “We are facing some issues on the mobile banking app. We are looking into it on priority basis and will update soon. Customers are requested to kindly complete their transaction. Use net banking. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
Let us tell you that there were many glitches in the bank’s digital channels in the last two years, after which in December RBI stopped the bank from going ahead with any new digital launch.
The third party-audit of the bank’s IT infrastructure is also currently underway, which was appointed by the RBI. The RBI ban has given rival banks including ICICI Bank Ltd an opportunity to woo HDFC customers.
ICICI Bank has aggressively pursued new digital initiatives including imobile app, a mobile banking app that provides payment and banking services to customers of any bank.
In the March quarter, ICICI Bank’s cardholder base grew by 672,911. HDFC Bank’s portfolio decreased by 322,999 in the same period.
