Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Sooryavanshi’ is making a big splash at the box office. On one hand, while the film is in discussion about its earnings, on the other hand a different debate has arisen on social media regarding the villain of the film. The director of the film Rohit Shetty has been accused of misrepresenting the Muslim community, on which the director’s reaction has now come to the fore. Refuting these allegations, Rohit said that when we chose Hindu villain in the films of today, why did not the question arise? Why is there noise about being a Muslim villain?
Why was there no problem when other films had Hindu villains?
In an interview with ‘The Quint’, when Rohit Shetty was asked about the controversy over the Muslim villain of ‘Suryavanshi’, the director stopped the trolls asking the question that till now there are Hindu villains in the films. Why was the question not asked? According to the report, Rohit Shetty said – If I ask you that Jayakant Shikre (Singham) was a Hindu Marathi. There was a Hindu Baba Villain in the other side of Singham. Dhruva Ranade was a Marathi in Simmba. Why was there no problem when all these three villains were Hindus?
Cast – did not write the story of films about religion
When Rohit Shetty was asked that people felt bad about the way Muslim villains were shown, Rohit dismissed these things saying that we never wrote the story of films about cast or religion and only There has never been such an intention. He says – I don’t think so. If the terrorist is from Pakistan then what will be his cast? We are not talking about the cast. This film has been made with a thought in mind. We never thought so. Why is this being discussed? It is wrong to associate any bad good person with the cast. We just made films keeping the audience in mind which can entertain them and not hurt their soul.
