It may be mentioned that Assam Police arrested Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mewani from Palanpur town of the state late on Wednesday night in connection with a tweet.
Mewani’s aide Suresh Jat said Mewani, a prominent Dalit leader from Gujarat, was arrested shortly after he lodged an FIR under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The FIR has been lodged at Kokrajhar police station in Assam.
