Official sources said that the subject matter expert committee (SEC) of the Central Drug Standards Regulatory Authority (CDSCO) in Kovid-19 on Monday recommended the controlled use of Kovid drug Malnupiravi in ​​the country in case of emergency. In emergencies, the drug “SPO2” can be used on adult patients with Covid-19 with 93 percent, and the drug may be given to patients who are at high risk for the disease.

Recommendations have been sent to DCGI

All recommendations have been forwarded to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for final approval. The CDSCO expert committee, which on Monday reviewed the Serum Institute of India’s (SII) application for the second emergency vaccine, recommended the use of Kovavax after a thorough study.

The first application in this regard was filed in October by Prakash Kumar Singh, Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs, SII.
