Deputy National Security Adviser: Vikram Misri appointed Deputy NSA to report to Ajit Doval

Deputy National Security Adviser: Former Indian Ambassador to China and Chinese expert Vikram Misri was appointed Deputy National Security Adviser to the National Security Council Secretariat on Monday. He will report to National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Currently, two deputy NSAs Rajendra Khanna and Dutta Pandsalgikar are providing their services.

According to reports, Vikram Misri, a diplomat from the 1989 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, was appointed as India’s ambassador to Beijing in 2019. After that his term is now ending on 31st December. In his place, Foreign Ministry earlier this month appointed Pradeep Kumar Rawat as its next ambassador to China.

Vikram Misri has also taken charge of the Foreign Ministry, including the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi. He has also served in various capacities in various Indian missions abroad in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. He was also the personal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi (May 2014-July 2014) and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (October 2012-May 2014).

Vikram Misri was also India’s ambassador to Myanmar and Spain. He also tried his hand at the private sector before becoming an officer in the Indian Foreign Service. He has also worked in advertisement and advertisement making for three years.
