New Delhi: In India, 27 thousand marriages take place every hour, every month more than 8 lakh people get married and every year 10 million people start a new married life. Marriage is considered the pillar of the family, but is this pillar falling apart now? The study done in America indicates the same way. So are people disillusioned about marriage all over the world and now more men than women want to remain single forever?
Why are people being forced to live alone?
Is the poor financial condition, the fear of not being able to handle the pressure of relationships and the sorrow of not being able to find the right life partner forcing people to live alone for life now? And are men the worst victims of this loneliness?
so many unmarried men in america
Based on the American Community Survey of 2019, Pew Research has claimed that now more and more men in America do not want to get married. At present, 38 percent of men aged 25 to 54 in America are unmarried and do not even want to get married. Of these, 20 percent of men aged 40 to 54 are such, who are not only unmarried, but also live with their parents. In comparison, in 1990, the number of unmarried men in the US was 29 percent. Financial condition responsible for not getting married
You must be thinking that perhaps the thinking of the youth of the world has changed towards marriage and they have started finding it unnecessary, but it is not so. The economic condition of these youth is responsible behind this. Surveys conducted in America show that most of those men remain unmarried, who do not have college degrees, who do small jobs and whose financial condition is not such that they can get married. In America, now most of the men are getting married, who have good jobs and good income.
Similar situation is in India also. In India, 39% of youth earning Rs 10,000 or less per month are not willing to marry, while those earning Rs 60,000 or more are not willing to marry. Only 21 percent of them are young people who do not want to get married. In India too, due to low income, the number of men who do not marry is more than women.
Young people do not want to go on the road of marriage!
The changes that take place in the society in western countries like America are visible only after many years and decades, but in countries like India too. Even today, even though crores of people get married every year in India, but gradually many people now either do not want to go on the path of marriage or want to keep every step by step. The basis of which society is considered to be marriage. The structure of that society is slowly changing. First joint families changed into nuclear families, then women and men started taking the responsibility of children alone and now many young people do not want to get involved in both marriage and children.
Young people want to live life in their own way
Till a few decades ago, women did not have much rights. She could not even complete her studies, but now women are moving forward rapidly. Women who are educated and earning equal to men now want a life partner who is financially strong, but many men are left behind in this race. But this fight is not between women and men. Rather it is to live life in your own way. The seven rounds of marriage and the association of seven births are still part of the tradition, but many young people have started considering this tradition as a cage. A cage in which he cannot spread the wings of his dreams. But will disillusionment with marriage work to weaken the society too? The answer to this question is neither straightforward nor easy.
