A video of violence on Hanuman Jayanti in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area has surfaced, showing a man being shot. This video has also gone viral. The accused are still out of police custody. The victim was identified as Sonu Chikna. ABP News reached the man’s house and talked to his mother. Sonu Chikna’s mother says her son made a mistake.
Sonu’s mother said that when she was about to break her fast, she found out about throwing stones and left. He said Sonu did not have a pistol. Shoots at someone. However, the mother admitted that her son was wrong. He is a criminal. Police have already arrested Sonu’s brother Selim Chikna.
Sonu Chikna’s mother said, ‘My son was not involved in the violence. He did not fire at the police. He snatched his pistol from the crowd. Sonu runs a chicken shop. He returned home after the violence. Frightened, he fled. Is there any case against Sonu? Sonu’s mother said no, there is no case against her. He prayed five times. He never quarreled with anyone.
What is the whole matter?
Violence erupted in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday. Violence is alleged to have started due to stone throwing in the procession. According to Delhi Police, stones were hurled at the procession as part of a conspiracy. ABP News also has a copy of the FIR in which the full details of the violence have been recorded.
According to the FIR, as the procession reached the Jama Masjid around 6 pm, a man named Ansar along with 4-5 of his companions started arguing with the people involved in the procession. As the argument escalated, the situation worsened and both sides began throwing stones. Then stones were thrown on the road. Vehicles were vandalized and set on fire. People came down the street with sticks and swords.
The police have arrested these accused
The 21 accused arrested are Ansar, Aslam, Zahid, Shahzad, Mukhtiar Ali Hasan, Mohammad Ali, Amir, Aksar, Noor Alam, Zakir, Akram, Imtiaz, Ahir, Mohammad Ali, Sheikh Sourav, Suraj, Neeraj, Sukin. Suresh, Sujit Sarkar and Selim are smooth.
