The department said in a bulletin that after 21 patients died in the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 1,41,454 and the death rate due to infection was 2.12 percent.
Maharashtra has the highest incidence of Omicron
There have been 653 cases of Omicron in 21 states and union territories of India, of which 186 have recovered or gone abroad. This information was given in the updated information of the Union Ministry of Health on Tuesday. Omikron has the highest number of 167 cases in Maharashtra. Since then, 165 cases have been reported in Delhi, 57 in Kerala, 55 in Telangana, 49 in Gujarat and 46 in Rajasthan.
According to the ministry’s updated data at 8 am, the number of people infected with the corona virus has risen to 3,46,99,791 in the last 24 hours after 6,356 more were infected with the virus. The number of patients undergoing treatment has come down to 75,456. The death toll rose to 4,70,290 with 293 more patients dying during the period.
For the past 61 days, daily cases of coronavirus infection have consistently been below 15,000. The ministry said the number of patients undergoing treatment had dropped to 75,456, accounting for 0.22 per cent of the total infections. This rate is the lowest since March 2020. The number of patients undergoing treatment has decreased by 365 in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, the recovery rate of patients from Kovid-19 is 98.40 percent, the highest since March 2020.
