In fact, tomorrow, Sunday 24th April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be honored with the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award on the 80th death anniversary of Master Dinanath Mangeshkar, the father of Swar Kokila Lata Mangeshkar. I would like to inform you that the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award is being started from this year in honor and memory of Lata Mangeshkar. This award will be given to one person every year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first person to receive this award. Prime Minister Modi’s affection for Lata Mangeshkar is well known, he considered her as his elder sister.
Earlier, the Maharashtra government had decided to name the proposed International School of Music in Mumbai after Swar Kokila and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
