Lemon price increase: At present, everyone is discussing about inflation in the country. But the place lemon has taken in this discussion has fueled the anger of inflation. Those who thought tea-coffee were expensive used to take the cheap way of lemonade, but now tea-coffee seems to be cheaper than lemon.
Devendra Chandrakar, a young farmer from Chhattisgarh, cultivates lemons on 20 acres of land. Lemons are cultivated on a total of 200 acres of land in Mahasamund district. Lemon growers are still unhappy even though buyers of lemons are facing inflation. According to Devendra Chandrakar, this time the production of lemon has decreased. The reason is heavy rain.
Devendra said excess rainfall during flowering affects the production of lemons. The flowers fall. This time in Chhattisgarh, when the lemon tree flowers, the rain has caused damage. At the same time, the lemon growers have been suffering due to corona for the last two years. Due to this many farmers have lost their crops. For this reason, they have a loss business in lemon cultivation.
Farmer Devendra Chandrakar said it costs about one lakh rupees to plant one acre of lemon. Even if the farmers get a profit of two and a half to three lakh rupees by giving the right price, no matter how much the price of lemon increases in the market, the farmers are still selling lemons in the market at 15 to 20 rupees. Kg.
