Maharashtra’s loudspeaker controversy reaches UP, Hanuman Chalisa recited from loudspeaker in Aligarh-Kasganj

The sound of the Maharashtra loudspeaker debate is now reaching different parts of the country. This controversy is also seen to be intensifying in Uttar Pradesh. Dozens of activists of Youth Revolution March in Aligarh, UP recite Hanuman Chalisa through loudspeakers in Gandhi Park area. “We had earlier given a memorandum to the administration to reduce the loudspeakers from the mosque,” said Yub Kranti Manch. But there was no hearing. Then Hanuman Chalisa is recited.

Shivang Tiwari, general secretary of the Youth Revolutionary Forum, said, “We will work to install loudspeakers at every turn.” The time we set is 5am and 5pm. This is the time of Azan. At that time we will have Hanuman Chalisa. We will do our Hanuman Chalisa and Aarti.

Debate over loudspeakers in Aligarh

In Aligarh, ABVP also sought permission to recite Hanuman Chalisa by placing loudspeakers at 21 intersections. Now ABVPO is giving an ultimatum to the administration. Former ABVP leader Baldev Chowdhury has said that if the administration does not give us permission and does not give any specific reason for it, then we will install loudspeakers next Tuesday i.e. on 19th without permission. When Minister Dharmapala Singh was asked about the Hanuman Chalisa recitation in a loudspeaker on behalf of Hindutva organizations in Aligarh and giving an ultimatum to the administration, he got angry with the media.

Dharmapal Singh, a minister in the UP government, said the unwarranted trouble was being created. At the crossroads we could not see anywhere. You are trying to ruin the environment. On the other hand, Hanuman Chalisa lessons have started in Patiali town of Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh in protest of Azan. Now Hanuman Chalisa is recited through loudspeakers in the temple in front of the mosque.
