Orissa school reopens:The Orissa government has decided to reopen schools for students in grades 1 to 5. Schools for children in grades 1 to 5 will open in the state from January 3. Education Minister SR Das made the announcement at a press conference. The announcement comes at a time when schools across the country are being considered for closure in the wake of growing coronavirus and Omicron cases.
A total of 26,000 schools will reopen in Orissa from January 3. However, the consent of the parents of the students is required. At the same time, classes will run in both online and offline modes. Students will have 3 hours of classes which will run from 9 am to 12 noon. In the order, the school administration has been directed to strictly follow the SOP along with all the Covid-19 rules. Let us tell you, the total number of Omicron cases in the state has reached 9 so far. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the authorities to be ready to deal with a possible third wave of Kovid-19 in the state.
Schools may be closed in Maharashtra
Schools are being considered for re-closure in Maharashtra in the wake of a growing Omicron case. Let us tell you, the total number of Omicron cases in the country has reached 781. 238 in Delhi, 167 in Maharashtra, 73 in Gujarat and 65 in Kerala. Meanwhile, 143.15 crore people have so far been vaccinated under the corona vaccine across the country. The number of corona cases in the country is currently 6,000. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases. It is currently 0.22% which is the lowest since March 2020.
