Prime Minister Modi in Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh today and will inaugurate the entire section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project at around 1.30 pm. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi will attend the 54th convocation of IIT Kanpur at 11 am. Improving urban mobility is one of the main focus areas of the Prime Minister.
The total length of the Metrorail project is 32 km.
The inauguration of the entire Kanpur Metro Rail project is another big step in this direction. It extends 9 km from IIT Kanpur to Moti Lake. The Prime Minister will inspect the Kanpur Metro Rail Project and travel from IIT Metro Station to Geeta Nagar. The entire length of the Kanpur Metro Rail project is 32 km, and is being constructed at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the non-punk multiproduct pipeline project. The 356 km long project has a capacity of about 3.45 million metric tons annually. Extending from Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh to Panki in Kanpur, the project has been constructed at a cost of over Rs 1,500 crore. This will help in the transportation of petroleum products from refineries in the region.

During the convocation, digital degrees will be awarded to all students through an in-house blockchain-driven technology developed at the Institute under the National Blockchain Project. The PMO will launch blockchain-based digital degrees, the PMO said in a statement. This digital degree can be verified worldwide.
