Punjab Election 2022: Prime Minister Modi and Capt Amarinder Singh may be seen together on a stage in Punjab on January 5

PM Modi to visit Punjab: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may blow the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election bugle in Punjab on January 5. Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh may also be present on the stage this time. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Satellite Center of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMR) at Chandigarh, Ferozepur, Punjab, after which he will address a rally. BJP sources said this on Tuesday.

This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first public meeting in Punjab after the central government repealed three controversial agricultural laws. Against this agrarian law, a large number of farmers in Punjab camped at various borders of Delhi and they started pressuring the central government to cancel them.

Finally, on 19 November, the government withdrew its action on the Agricultural Act. In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while announcing the formation of a committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP), urged the farmers to withdraw their movement.

These laws were then repealed by bringing a bill on the first day of the winter session of Parliament. After the passage of this bill, the peasants withdrew their movement conditionally.

According to BJP sources, Modi’s rally will start the election campaign of the BJP and its allies. Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress has formed an alliance with the BJP. According to BJP sources, Amarinder Singh may also attend the rally.

Apart from Prime Minister Modi and Capt Amarinder Singh, Punjab’s election in-charge and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and his colleagues in the Union Cabinet Hardeep Singh Puri and Meenakshi Lekhi are also expected to attend the rally.

Amarinder Singh met Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Naddar in Delhi on Monday. At this time the distribution of seats was discussed. According to sources, the BJP will play the role of senior alliance partner in Punjab and could contest more than half of the 117 seats.
