Hundreds of Akali Dal and BSP activists gathered outside Captain Amarinder Singh’s farmhouse in Siswan, Mohali, to raise slogans against the state Congress government. At the same time, Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was also taken into custody during the protests.

The formation of the alliance began a year ago
Punjab has assembly elections in 2022 next year. Recently, long-time BJP ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has left ‘Kamal’ and joined hands with the BSP. In fact, both the parties have come together keeping in mind the issue of seeking Dalit votes. According to reports, the BSP could contest about 20 seats.
