Ranjit Singh of Kurukshetra, who was a member of the management committee of Dera Sacha Sauda, was murdered on 10 July 2002. Dera management suspected that Ranjit Singh had written an anonymous letter of sexual abuse of Sadhvi from his sister. Ranjit Singh’s father was dissatisfied with the police investigation and filed a petition in the High Court in January 2003, seeking a CBI inquiry. Gurmeet Ram Rahim is lodged in Sunaria Jail
Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in jail by a special CBI court in August 2017 for raping two women. At the same time, in January 2019, a court sentenced Ram Rahim and three others to life imprisonment for the murder of a journalist 16 years ago. Since then Gurmeet Ram Rahim is imprisoned in Sunaria Jail of Haryana.
