Shiv Sena with UPA: Shiv Sena has called for major changes in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA). In an editorial in the mouthpiece Saamna, Shiv Sena wrote that it was not possible to unite the opposition without changing the ownership of the UPA held by the Congress.
It was further stated that the UPA should be reformed. The UPA (seven times) ownership is now in the name of the Congress. It is not possible for the opposition to be firmly united without manipulation. After the defeat of five states, the Congress will at least come forward and call on the opposition to revive the ‘UPA’, which was everyone’s expectation.
In the editorial, Shiv Sena further said that the Congress party may have some family problems within itself, but this problem will not stand in the way of unity of the opposition. Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Mamata Banerjee, Kejriwal, K.C. Rao, M.K. All of them are talented personalities and need to be discussed in the context of new solidarity. The Congress did not lead for this, so Mamata Banerjee had to come forward. He called for a “progressive” force. Progressive does not mean unnecessary secularism.
It is noteworthy that earlier the UPA constitutional party had passed a resolution in its national executive meeting to make Sharad Pawar the youth wing of the NCP.
