‘There is no scientific evidence that booster doses of the corona vaccine will stop the infection,’ experts say

Omicron: In India, from January 10 next year, another dose or booster dose of corona vaccine, called pre-warning dose, will be given to the body to contain antibodies against corona. This dose will be given to healthcare and frontline staff. Modi is knowingly questioning the government’s decision and calling it unnecessary. They argue that in countries where booster doses have been given (such as the United States and the United Kingdom), cases are increasing and Omicron is spreading. In such a situation, there will be no benefit with booster dose in India.

Sanjay Rai, president of the Indian Public Health Organization and head of the community medicine department at AIIMS in Delhi, was surprised by the government’s decision to give another dose of the corona vaccine. According to him, the decision on drugs and vaccines should be based on scientific evidence. People will benefit if booster dose is given, antibodies will be made in the body. The higher the risk, the lower the risk of infection, so far there is no definitive evidence. At the same time, in countries where booster doses are being given, corona infections have not stopped, but cases are increasing. Not only is the incidence of corona infection increasing in these two countries, but the incidence of omicron infection is also very high.

IPHA President Dr Sanjay Rai said many countries have started booster doses, some have started applying. We should analyze it. We should have some scientific temperament. Medical science has evolved, so many times commercial interests want to prioritize science. If we look at the fact that the UK has already given a booster dose to about 35 per cent of the population, there are still cases coming up.

According to him, the infection still occurs after two doses of the vaccine. Those who have applied both doses are being infected with the new form of corona, Omicron. According to Dr Sanjay Rai, an analysis report by the Union Ministry of Health Omicron on Friday found that people were infected with the newer version of Corona after both the dose and even the booster dose.
According to an analysis report by the Union Ministry of Health, Dr. Sanjay Rai, the Ministry of Health has analyzed 183 of the Omicron-infected patients, revealing that 91% of patients have received both doses of the vaccine. At the same time, 70% of infected patients had no symptoms.

Analysis found:

  • A total of 121 people had a history of overseas travel, meaning they returned from abroad, accounting for 73% of all patients. Where 44 infected patients had no travel history. But he came back from abroad and came in contact with someone. At the same time, efforts are being made to find out the identities of 18 people. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
  • At the same time, of these 183 Omicron-infected patients, 87 were fully vaccinated, meaning both doses were given. It also includes 3 people who received three doses. At the same time, 7 people received no vaccine and 2 received a vaccine. At the same time, 16 of these 183 Omicron-infected patients were not eligible, meaning they did not receive the vaccine. However, the status of vaccination of 83 people was not known.
  • In 183 Omicron cases, 39% were females and 61% were males Also 30% of patients had symptoms and 70% of patients had no symptoms.

According to Dr. Rye, the way mutations occur in the virus and as much as it does, one more dose of the vaccine will not have a significant effect because if the virus changes and antibodies are present in the body even after two doses. The virus will not be infected.

Sanjay Rai, president of the Indian Public Health Association, was the chief investigator of the India Biotech vaccine Kovacsin at AIIMS. In addition, he himself did a trial of Kovacin on children aged 2 to 18 years and did a booster dose at the AIIMS in Delhi.
