Manoj Byas, a young man from Vilwara in Rajasthan, walks the streets of Mumbai with a Teranga in his hand. Manoj has been marching from Rajasthan to Mumbai since March 11. The desire behind the walk is to meet Reliance Company owner Mukesh Ambani. Manoj said in the conversation that unemployment is a big problem in Vilwara area of Rajasthan. He will meet Mukesh Ambani and demand that he open a closed factory in his area or start a Reliance company there to provide employment to the youth.
If this happens then the people there will be able to get employment in their area. They do not have to go to another state. Manoj said he walks 20 to 25 kilometers every day. At night they rest on the side of the road or in the dhaba. Manoj has walked 1150 km since March 11. He said he had high hopes that Mukesh Ambani was a man of big heart, he would meet him and see his demands and his austerities would be repaid. Only time will tell if Manoj’s wish to meet Mukesh Ambani will be fulfilled.
