The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) released the coal stock report in power plants of India on 7 October. According to this report, out of the total 135 power plants in the country, 110 do not have sufficient stock of coal.

Coal found less in stock

According to the report, in 135 power plants of India, only 19 percent of the stock was available in comparison to the stock of coal. If we talk in detail, 16 of these power plants do not have coal stock even for a day. In the same 30 power plants, only 1 day’s stock of coal was found.

Only 2 days in 18 power plants, 3 days in 19 and 4 days in 9 power plants were left. 5 days of coal was found in 6 power plants of the country and 6 days of coal was found in 10 plants. The stock of coal for 7 days and 8 days in 1 was shown in 1 power plant of the country.

According to the report, out of 110 power plants where coal stock was found to be below normal, 10 plants are those which have not paid the old bills. Due to this, the supply of coyly has been stopped to them. At the same time, 57 plants were found which had given timely and full payment. Despite this, Coal India’s subsidiaries like CCL, WCL, MCL, SECL, SSCL had short supply even after payment.

In the report, 12 such plants were found, which had paid less amount. Therefore, the supply of coal to them was also reduced. In the rest of the power plants, the shortage of coal is coming due to technical problems or problems in transport.

Most of the power plants there run on coal, the supply of which used to come from Australia. Now there is a rift between the two countries on various issues, after which China has stopped buying coal from Australia. Due to this, there has been a power crisis there.
