On Thursday, 72 members of various parties from 19 states retired from the Rajya Sabha. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also present on the occasion. At that time some MPs sang songs and said goodbye to the members. BJP MP Rupa Ganguly sang ‘Aaj jaane ki jid na karo’ on the occasion. At the same time many MPs went together to release the famous song ‘Albida Na Kehna’ which was released in 1986. Rupa Ganguly was also among those who sang this song.

These MPs will retire next July
Among the members who retired in July were Piyush Goyal, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, P Chidambaram, Ambika Soni, Kapil Sibal, Satish Chandra Mishra, Sanjay Raut, Praful Patel and K. J. Alphonse included.

Although some Union ministers and BJP leaders will be re-nominated, it is not clear whether some Congress members will be re-nominated. Many of these members belong to the G-23 who have been critical of the party leadership.

“Retired MPs can change their pitch,” he said
In his farewell address to the retired members, Goel said that the expiration of the members was just a milestone in the political innings. He advised these MPs that they can change their pitch if they want.

“Test matches are long, we will all continue to play,” said Goyal. Some play on the same pitch while others get a chance to change the pitch. Many are still invited to change the pitch. If you want to change the pitch, new opportunities are available. Let’s all work together. “

Gail’s advice could be crucial at a time when the prospect of many G-23 congressional leaders returning to the upper house is unclear.

Naidu especially praised Anand Sharma
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, in his speech, praised the tenure of all the opposition leaders, but he made a special mention of Anand Sharma as chairman of the parliamentary standing committee of the home ministry and praised his work.
